Apollo's Sunrise

Sunrise, its morning
a new day is dawning
I'm creeping out of this cave
to the utter devastation
this place is a war zone

but this Sunrise
I feel safe
with the sunlight
on my face
I almost forgot
I'm in outer space

I've got this whole world as my own
this ash rock and stone is my new home
its time that i make it one
there's a hole in the surface
where a meteor smashed into everything
my gear is scattered all about
this seems impossible

but peering into the crater
my eyes must deceive me
there in the rock below
can it really be
a fossil
true proof
my first battle won
from the God of war
this is it
I know what has to be done
repair what's left here
reestablish communication

this sunrise
this dawning
a new world
where anything is possible
I have to tell the world
there's life in outer space
