about
Written by Beef & Jerky
Beef & Jerky is Scott Loving & Brian Speaker
This is an experiment in the Phil Spector 'Wall of Sound'. The instrumentation to this track was recorded all at one time in one large room and one small room with minimal isolation. The goal was to recreate the classic Wall of Sound style recording technique made famous by Phil Spector. Performing all at once are:
Drums
2 Basses
2 Percussionist
4 Electric guitars
1 Acoustic guitar
Piano
Wurlitzer Electric Piano
Cello
Violin
Clarinet
Banjo
2 Trumpets
Glockenspiel
Then the entire group recorded a group vocal after the track was recorded. Same group, two parts, in one big room.
Finally added are the the performance of Beef & Jerky, Beef playing acoustic guitar and singing, and Jerky singing and playing kazoo.
